Synopsis
A Portuguese widow, Celia Amonte, whose husband had been a fisherman has died at sea. Her teenage daughter, Vicky, wants to be a professional gambler and she convinces her mother to date a British man, Charlie Beck, whose new in town. Celia falls for the Charlie, and vise vera, who pretends to be in the fishing business but is actually a gambler.

Emmy's Character
Vicky Amonte is the teenage daughter of Celia Amonte, a single mother. She just wants her mother to be happy and meets a guy named Charlie Beck. Once she gets to know him, she sets up a date between him and her mother. What she knows that her mother doesn't, is that Charlie is a professional gambler. When things get out of hand, Vicky threatens to tell her mom Charlie's secret unless he teaches her the art of card counting.
